Midgard
Midgard has been supplying drilling Fluids and services to some of the leading IOC’s and NOC’s globally for over 20 years. Within Turkmenistan we have been the Service Company of choice for the last 10 years, supplying both Water Based and Oil Based solutions to our growing list of clients. Within the boundaries of the Turkmenistan waters of the Caspian Sea, Midgard is the only Service Company to have completed OBM Wells to date, having been drilling OBM from 2006 – 2018.
Production
As production enhancement specialists, we are always exploring new ways to expand and improve on our, already extensive, product portfolio. We do this, through our comprehensive research and development facility, specialising in oilfield chemicals. Capitalising on our advanced research and development capabilities, we are able to consistently introduce innovative products that will optimize our clients’ investments in the oil and gas industry.
Water Based Fuilds
The original KCl/PHPA low solids, non-dispersed drilling fluid system that is primarily used to drill moderately reactive shales.
An inhibitive, cloud point glycol water-based drilling fluid designed to meet difficult drilling targets with minimal environmental impact.
A new generation of high-performance water base drilling fluid, HPWBM, which provides wellbore stability, enhanced inhibition and rapid penetration rates.
A silicate water base drilling fluid which utilises 5 – 15% v/v of sodium or potassium silicate solution to enhance inhibition and mechanical wellbore stability; particularly in highly fractured or unconsolidated formations.
A high performance, sodium free, patented silicate drilling fluid, engineered to provide sodium and chloride free drilling fluid for sensitive environments and efficient cuttings treatment. It provides a recycling route for the cuttings thus minimising environmental impact
An extremely flexible water-based drilling fluid system to be used when temperature, contaminants, and/or borehole instability makes conventional systems impractical or uneconomical.
Custom designed drill-in fluid to provide minimal reservoir damage over a wide range of porosity and permeability, while providing an easily removable filter cake on drawdown that typically does not require breakers or acid clean-ups.

Non-Aqueous Fluids
Cost effective invert emulsion drilling fluid which is available with a choice of mineral or synthetic-based fluids; includes EPA compliant systems.
High temperature-high pressure (HTHP) drilling fluid designed to provide emulsion and rheology stability beyond the temperature limits of standard invert emulsion systems. A mixed metal oxide drilling fluid that delivers a highly thixotropic (shear thinning) water-based drilling fluid which is environmentally friendly and cost effective.
A synthetic-based drilling fluid, unlike the conventional invert emulsion drilling fluid systems, engineered to provide a stable flat rheology for deep water drilling environments. It utilises low pour point base fluids, represents a new generation in non-aqueous drilling fluids technology by providing rheology properties, yield point, low shear rates and gel strengths that are consistent over a wide range of temperatures.
An environmentally friendly synthetic invert emulsion drilling fluid based on non-toxic, biodegradable ester chemistry.
